Agnieszka Wolny-Hamkało – poet, literary critic and journalist, author of 7 volumes of poetry. Born and lives in Wrocław. She debuted in 1999 with the volume “Moc bardzo poszukiwana” (“Strongly sought after”). She has published eight poetry books so far, the last one being “Guest performances”. For her volume “Lonty” from 2001 she received an award from the Association of Polish Writers. She was nominated for the Gdynia Literary Award for “Spams of Love” in 2007. Her poems have been published in English, Russian, Italian, Chinese, Hungarian, Czech, and Serbian, among others. Her debut novel “Eclipse” was published in 2013.

She is also the author of two children’s books Nochal Magic (2007) and The Peacock’s Pond Runner (2011). In the years 2009-2011, she was the co-runner of the TV programme Wholesale of Books at TVP, and since 2012, she has been the head of the literary magazine at TVP Kultura. She also worked for TVP Wrocław. He is the deputy editor-in-chief of “Chimera” monthly and regularly cooperates with “Gazeta Wyborcza”, “Tygodnik Powszechny”, “Polityka” and “Dwutygodnik”.
