A poet, translator of American and British poetry, regular collaborator of the ‘Literatura na Świecie’ magazine. He works as an English teacher at the University of Silesia in Katowice.

His works include nine volumes of poetry, including his debut Karnet na życie (1976), Strzępy (1998), and Postscripta wybrane (2003). One of the most outstanding translators of English-language poetry into Polish, he has translated several dozen poetry books, by authors such as Ezra Pound, Walt Whitman, Allen Ginsberg, William Butler Yeats and Emily Dickinson.
