Kacper Bartczak (born in1972) – poet, critic, translator of poetry, American. Author of several volumes of poetry. The newest of them, Wiersze organiczne (Organic Poems), was published by the House of Literature in Łódź in 2015. He is also the author of a monograph on John Ashbery (Peter Lang, 2006) and a collection of essays on poetry and theory (The Unintegrated World, Literary Office, 2009), from which he received the World Literature Award. He translated poems by John Ashbery, Rae Armantrout and Peter Gizzi. The selection of Gizzie’s poems in his translation (together with Andrzej Sosnowski’s translations) was published by the Mikołowski Institute in 2013. Scholarship holder of the Fulbright Foundation (twice) and the Adam Mickiewicz Foundation (twice). T. Kosciuszko. He teaches American literature at the University of Łódź.
