born 1962, is a specialist in literary history of the 20th and 21st centuries, literary critic, essayist and translator, co-founder (in 2006) and employee of the Literary Anthropology Department at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He has published over ten books, including Ślady przełomu. O prozie polskiej 1976-1996 (Traces of a Breakthrough. On the Polish Prose 1976-1996, 1997), Ruchome marginesy: szkice o literaturze lat 90 (Moveable Margins: Essays on the Literature of the Nineties, 2002) and, most recently, Polska do wymiany. Późna nowoczesność i nasze wielkie narracje (The Poland To Replace. Late Modernity and Our Great Narrations, 2009). He is the recipient of many prizes, among others the Koscielski Foundation Prize and the Kazimierz Wyka Prize.
