Belarusian poet, literary critic and translator born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1977. She graduated from music school where she played the piano. She studied philology at the Belarusian State University. After graduation, she stayed at the University, teaching Russian literature. Her research was dedicated to the analysis of the Silver Age of Russian Poetry for children. The result of her work was a pioneering monograph on this topic, published in 2004.

In 2003, her first volume of verse entitled To the healthy lifestyle was published. Although she initially wrote and published in Russian, she ultimately selected Belarusian. Her oeuvre includes original poetry and prose works, as well as translations. The poet’s works have been translated into many languages, such as: English, Czech, German, Polish, Russian, and Esperanto.

Apart from literary publications, Burlak is also known for her extremely lively performances. Moving poetry soirées are complemented with theatre shows and concerts of independent music groups, in which the artist takes part as a singer and instrumentalist. Burlak has also participated in numerous international literary projects, which took place in Moscow, Minsk, and Brno, among others.

She is the wife of Viktar Zybul, a poet considered to be one of the most important authors of his generation. They live in Minsk.
