Kacper Bartczak (born 1972) – poet, critic, translator of poetry, American scholar. Author of several volumes of poetry. The newest one, Organic poems, was published by Dom Literatury in Łódź in 2015. He is also the author of a monograph about John Ashbery (Peter Lang, 2006) and a collection of essays about poetry and theory (Un-Merged World [Świat nie scalony], Biuro Literackie, 2009), for which he received a prize by the Literatura na Świecie magazine. He has translated the works of John Ashbery, Rae Armantrout and Peter Gizzi. A selection of Gizzi’s poems he had translated (along with translations by Andrzej Sosnowski) was published by the Mikołowski Institute in 2013. He was a two-time Fulbright Scholarship and the Kościuszko Foundation Scholarship recipient. He teaches American literature at the University of Łódź.
