Belgian writer, poet and essayist, working in Dutch

Born in 1951 in Ghent, Belgium. One of the most prominent Dutch writers, he has been nominated for or won most of the literary awards available for writers working in that language, including Multatuli-prijs oraz F. Bordewijk-prijs.

He has published over a dozen novels, collections of short stories, essays and poetry. Recently, Wydawnictwo Marginesy published the Polish translation of his novel War and Turpentine.
