Born in Nowa Ruda in 1960, where he still lives. Works at the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication at the University of Wrocław. Published eight volumes of poetry, among which the most recent Potrawy pośmiertne (Post-mortem Dishes), 2010, and Ody odbite (Reflected Odes), 2012, as well as seven books of prose, e.g. Faramucha, 2001 (nominated for the Polityka Password Award), Sajgon, 2009, Manekiny (Dummies), 2012, Przemyśl-Szczecin, 2013 (nominated for the Silesian Literary Laurel Award). In 1999 his literary criticism book Nasi klasycyści, nasi barbarzyńcy (Outré Classicists, Our Barbarians) saw print, and in 2001 his second book on a similar theme: Zwierzę na J. Szkice o wierszach i ludziach. (A J-letter Animal. Sketches about Poems and People). Later he published: Rozproszone głosy. Notatki krytyka (Scattered Voices. Critics;’ Notes), 2006 (nominated for the Nike Award); Po debiucie (After Debut), 2008; Pociąg do literatury (A Drive to Literature), 2010. Co-authored the guidebook Jak zostać pisarzem (How to Become a Writer), 2011. Recently he has published another literary criticism book: Wolność czytania (The Freedom of Reading) and selected poetry from the years 1984-2014 Jeszcze inna historia (Yet Another Story). In 2017 his debut book for children. Przypadki Pantareja (Pantharei’s Adventures) was published.
