Born on the 24th December, 1961 in Lublin, is a Polish poet, novelist, journalist, and singer of Świetliki and Czarne Ciasteczka. He studied Polish at the Jagiellonian University. As a poet, Świetlicki debuted in the Lublin-based Akcent magazine. Even before he published his first volume, he was considered to be an important representative of the so-called “bruLion generation”. Laureate of numerous important literary prizes, including Georg Trakl Prize, Kościelski Award, Grand Prix of bruLion competition, Jan Twardowski Award and the Paszport Polityki Award, which he declined. He was also nominated four times for the Literary Nike Award.
