Marta Eloy Cichocka


(born in 1973)

Poet and photographer, Iberian Studies scholar and a Francophile, doctor and and translator of literature, in particular from Spanish. Laureate of the first prize in Halina Poświatowska National Poetry Competition, (2004), holder of the scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in the field of literature (2007), and laureate of the I Beca-Residencia Internacional SxS Antonio Machado (2016). She has published Wejście evakuacyjne (2003), Lego dla ego (2005), bilingual Ślady opon na poduszce/Huellas de neumáticos en la almohada (2016), Engramy (2017) as well as two books on literary theory, devoted to the poetics of contemporary historical novel, each in a different language. Author of the play Córki powietrza. Sen Balladyny, inspired by Calderón and Słowacki (Jan Kochanowski Theatre, directed by Ignacio García, première: March 2019), editor of the volume of poetry Trado by Svetlana Cârstean and Athena Farrokhzad, translated by Justyna Czechowska and Joanna Kornaś-Warwas (release: Miłosz Festival 2019).
