Wojciech Bonowicz


(born in 1967)

Poet, publicist and journalist. He published seven volumes of poetry. In 2007 he received the Gdynia Literary Award in the poetry category for his volume Pełne Morze (2006), and the volumes Echa (2013) and Druga ręka (2017) were nominated for the Wisława Szymborska Award and the Nike Literary Award. His poems were translated into several languages, including English, Czech, Spanish, Catalan, German, Russian, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian and Italian. He was featured as a singer on albums by Fisz Emade Tworzywo and Lesers Band. He is a regular columnist of Tygodnik Powszechny weekly and Znak monthly (where he writes a column devoted to poetry). He recently published a volume of essays entitled Sto lat. Książka życzeń (2018). He lives in Krakow.
