Syrian poet born 1982 in Hama, Syria. Her first poetry collection, Wenig von dir…viel vom Salz (tr. Not much from you…A lot from salt), was written in Arabic and came out in 2014. She was the first laureate of “Torschreiber am Pariser Platz” grant for 2018, funded by Allianz Kulturstiftung and Stiftung Brandenburger, dedicated to expat writers. Currently residing in Trier, Germany, she describes herself as “a woman who hangs her identity on the lines of the world as if hanging her laundry on the clotheslines on her balcony”. Guest of Berlin International Literature Festival (2017) and Frankfurt Book Fair (2017).
